Ive done frostbite sailign in the past in El Toros (big Optis) at my yacht club and was able to get away with spray pants a couple layers and a spray top boots and gloves. I bought a dry suit in an end of the season sale and used it once but I coudlnt get my boots zippered. Im frostbiting this year and its beach launching rock boat yard. is it worth sailing without the boots and then just slipping on a pair of flip flops for on land or should i be wearing boots when I sail?

You need a bigger pair of boots!

I have 2 pairs for the year. Rooster hike boots for most of the year and I think my others are Musto zip boots which are a bigger size so I can get more layers in them without cutting the circulation off to my toes.

I don't wear a drysuit but even just adding wetsocks/hotsocks is enough that I need a bigger boot in the winter.
