fiberglass daggerboard

Can somebody please tell me if a fiberglass daggerboard is any good or would wood or plastic be better?

It isn't clear exactly what you want to know. Legal daggerboards are either made from wood or a polyurethane foam reinforced with metal rods. We often refer to the latter as the "plastic fantastic".
Fiberglassing a wooden board is legal as well, I believe.
 
Dude – You can do it.

Research the Sunfish working design. Look around at other type boats where plastic composite boards are used. Here’s some pointers from the plastic board world. The technique is the same only on a smaller scale. Sorry we can’t be more helpful. Like everyone else we build ours from wood or buy the plastic board from the dealer. If you get a good one you’ll be the man and we’ll all look to you for help making ours.
