differences between radial and full rigs

In my local fleet I usually sail full rigs because there are no people who sail radials. I was wondering, what are the differences in sailing between the two rigs both upwind and downwind.
Thanks,
Frank

I have read (and my experience tends to confirm this) that the radial is nearly as fast as a standard upwind, but slower downwind.

Agreed, but it also depends a lot on the wind strengths. For instance, in light winds (0-15 mph), I can't keep up with the full rigs when I am in my Radial (especially down wind), but in heavy winds, I might have a chance.
