Can anyone tell me what other hardwoods are used to make a dagger board? Their are no mohogany boards around that I can find. Thanks Mike

A lot of good info regarding 'do-it-yourself' boards from knowledgeable Forum contributors.

Keep in mind that while woods other than mahogany might be less than ideal, you can always coat your board with fiberglass and epoxy. It will be much more durable and water resistant than varnish.

Try plywood, it doesn't warp and if coated with epoxy it'll work well.
