Twenty-Seven Laser Radials were racing near Annapolis last Thursday in the 2009 Sandy MacVickar Junior Regatta. It was a clean sweep for the Fishing Bay Yacht Club Sailors who took 1st through 6th place. Alex Jacob finished first overall with 3 bullets in 5 races. He was followed by Kyle Swenson and Austin Powers.
When asked about the regatta Alex Jacob said “It started out very windy and died down to nothing. I knew I need to beat Kyle Swenson in the last race and somehow I did.”
Matt Schoene (SSA) also found the wind to be a little challenging “The breeze was clocking to the right the entire day, but somehow the left side of the first beat always paid off big.
