Centerboard Question

The top part of my centerboard, where you grab it, has come almost free. The screws that hold it in place have worn a hole to the end of the board. Is there anything wrong with taking some marine epoxy and gluing those two pieces together? Thanks!

If you use epoxy there is no need for screws. The eposy joint will be stronger than the surronding wood. I used Gorilla Glue and no screws on mine. Just remember not to clamp the joint so tight you squeeze all the glue out.

After you do the epoxy job, suggest you make a wooden cap for the top of the board, and secure with 2-3 large ss screws going down vertically into the board. Never break again
