Centerboard movement

I tried to search but I didn't find anything. How do you stop your centerboard when it is moving from side to side going downwind?

I heard something about a tape in the top leading edge ... I think that centerboard movement is against speed, and those bumps are killing me!:D

thanks!

in the lighter stuff you can hold the plate when heeling the boat to windward, this stops u falling out and the plate rocking. also, mine doesnt ten to rock in the heavier stuff so im guessing yours is the same

I saw people holding the centerboard going downwind in light air, I was wondering why, now I know the answer. Thanks!

But, what about medium and heavy air?. Too much speed to worry about it?

no problem, in medium/heavy winds i haven't really taken note if its rocking mainly because there is more important things to focus on but i will look out next time.
maybe also a new friction pad, this stops the plate popping up when beating so may provide a bit of extra stiffness - http://www.lasersailing.com/shop/uks/product/2

hope that helps!
