catalina capri

There is a used capri w/ trailer in the paper and I'm told that it is very similar to, and rigged the same, as a laser. Any comments/concerns as to whether this is the case?
 
It is either a Cyclone (C-13) mfg. from ~1972 through ~1985, or a Capri 13, mfg. from ~1985 through ?

The Capri 13 has a sleeved sail like the Laser, the Cyclone utilizes a halyard.

The Capri 14.2 is a 2-sail 2-person boat.
 
I think you are right Scott. I took it for granted that it was a catalina. I went to check it out yesterday. It's a 1988 Capri, in nearly new condition, and to my novice eye, I'd have thought I was looking at a laser. I ended up telling the owner that I'd take it and he's delivering it Saturday.

Since it's not a laser, am I still able to ask advice on this forum?

Your welcome to ask questions, but try and keep it related to Lasers in some way. Like I said before, I run a similiar site at www.capri14.org/ where you can talk all you want about Capri and Catalinas.
