Hello All,
We at Quannapowitt YC fleet are having our having our post season wrap up and next season prelim. meeting soon. We were thinking of adding an event or two to our two events we have already, maybe making a series of them. I know there are a few D7 sailors here, so what do you guys think of this idea, and what do you look for in a good regatta? Personally, I just want a lot of races, not a lot of goodies. Quannapowitt is pretty central to NH, RI, and most of the fleets in MA, so what about start times? most events have the harbor start @ 11. Is this too early, too late, or just right for the majority? We are also thinking of creating a "members try out the laser" day to promote fleet development. any thought on this? I'm sure we'll have a pretty lively dicussion on it at our meeting, but has anyone tried that @ their club? My main concern is timing. Obviously early season makes sense, but that would mean the early season water temp.
