Bent bottom section

Question, Has any one bent the laser (standard) rig bottom section? It appears that I have bent it about 1 to 1.5 in starting at the gooseneck. Not sure the cause. I have build a jig to reverse the stresses. See no markings that hint that it has been it or run over.

My have a bottom section with a permanent bend as well. I don't think mine is as much as 1.5 inches, but it is a concern nonetheless.

I think mine is due to heavy vanging; the real problem in my eyes is light air and offwind performance. Anyone out there ever bend one back to straight?
I am personally afraid to do it.
 
Ever bent btm section

This is my seventh laser (still have them within the family). I have NEVER bent the btm section. I even went and had my mother check the one at the cottage. They are all straight. The new vang system may be the cause as this is only boat with the new vang.
