Basic Laser vang/kicker

I use the "Old-school" basic kicker/vang. With the basic set-up the v-cleat is on the opposite side to the end of the line, so how can i cleat the line?! Any ideas of what i can do?

Its sounds like the V-cleat is up toward the boom, is that what you have? See the

Yeah that's what i have! I might go with the 8:1 or maybe just reverse the blocks so as the bigger block attatches to the boom, it seem to work that way.
