Excellent job on the video!!! If you've read Melville & Twain, two of the titans of American Literature, then perhaps you've read THE SEA WOLF by Jack London, and my all-time favorite book TREASURE ISLAND by Robert Louis Stevenson. My favorite AUTHOR would be Nevil Shute, his stories are radical: try TRUSTEE FROM THE TOOLROOM, FAR COUNTRY, and A TOWN LIKE ALICE for starters, I reckon you'd enjoy 'em. PASTORAL is bad@$$ too, sailing and aviation share many common traits. I like Arthur Conan Doyle & C.S. Forester too, the Sherlock Holmes tales and the Hornblower saga are FREAKIN' EPIC, LOL. Reading the Hornblower stories is a good way for modern novices to learn more about sailing and the nautical world, aye? I recently watched "Captain Horatio Hornblower" with Gregory Peck, the library has heaps of DVDs and all loans are free... y'all know I'm a notoriously cheap b@stard, and I gotta have some relaxation time every night after pulling home rehab. I watched "The Guns of Navarone" last night, a classic Alistair MacLean potboiler in which Gregory Peck & Anthony Quinn demonstrated poor chimneying technique, LOL. WTF, most viewers back then wouldn't have known the difference, but each movie star's chimneying technique displayed $h!thouse style, LOL. No worries, I'm sure they laughed all the way to the bank... who needs STYLE when ya gots more MONEY than Chase Manhattan, 10-4?
P.S. When I drove a rental truck from Washington State to Arizona a few months ago, I nearly ran out of fuel TWICE, since the truck had one small fuel tank and I was routed through BFE, Oregon & Nevada. Like the pilot in PASTORAL, I throttled back to conserve fuel and coasted into fuel stops on absolute fumes, LOL. I also used that trick once or twice in my "trucking daze"---it works, and it keeps ya from riding shanks' mare, don'tcha know???

I thoroughly enjoyed the video, the tunes, and the journey. The lake where I sail in East Texas is tiny compared to the great big ocean but man am I inspired to go sailing! Thanks for sharing! You are not only a daring sailor but a dynamite storyteller too.
How did I miss watching this earlier? Great job of editing, and presenting the Big Picture!
Given a 14-foot boat, I think you've proved that dolphins don't "ride the bow wave", but just may be "tagging-along", as one's dog might.
You're certain those are dolphins?
.
Great video! Amazing trip. I liked how you came ashore. Like a jet ski.

Thanks for reminding me to place my copies of Treasure Island and another work by Mark Twain on Craigslist.
It's been many years since I'd read either book, but it's time to reduce my library, and these two are "the jewels in the crown" of this collection. (And gold-leaf covers—hardly opened—perhaps because of their excellent condition.

Look for it.
Several years ago, the Coast Guard was called to rescue a Jet-Skier who had run out of gas—halfway to Bimini.so the video is posted on YouTube I may try to make a channel out of it if people are interested. Here is the link:
I also have an idea festering in my head... Maybe Fort Lauderdale to Bimini
Hard to do when idiots like Newsom have outlawed recreational boating... :confuse
Thanks.Ah, the magic word... you got it.
