yea the price goes up normally by about £100 a year, so who knows wen they will stop with it, i ordered mine about a year ago and it cost £3670 for the boat minus covers trolley and trailer :)
a wide strap spreads the load throughout your feet, therefore you have less pressure on one place, which means less likelihood of injuries and more comfort, imagine using a 6mm line as your toestrap lol
i think the blue blocks are fastened with a rivet which is better than screws, i heard it is highly recommended to buy them instead of the black ones because they are less likely to come apart :)
it caused because the trailing edge of your rudder or centreboard is uneven which causes it to flap at high speed. You need to sand the edge to make sure it is fair. I also have this problem and have done the sanding but it still hums and vibrates the tiller
I managed to watch the whole of the last laser race but what was surprising is that there was not much to be learned from the sailors. They were all doing bad habits like dropping their extensions on tacks and things like that (except Scheidt)
good observations. The BBC coverage of the sailing has been abysmal to say we are doing so well. Hardly anything live has been shown. The point about the vang is interesting. Does Robert use the entire old vang or only the old cleat like Michael Blackburn? (who considers it too heavy)
I just bought my first boat new this season and I have found that the daggerboard does have quite a bit of side to side movement. I am fairly sure that this is not unusual but i have thought it could be tighter in the case. Anyway i don't really know much as I have only owned the one boat

i only hike straight legged because I would drag through the water with bent legging. It also feels the most comfortable for me. Also if you hike with straight legs and you start to get tired you always have the option of relaxing your legs slightly which I don't find you can do with bent legging
The silva 103R is about £125, then you pay about another £25 for a bracket. I personally don't use one but then I only sail inland but when I start doing big sea opens I don't think I will bother because I would think it makes you sharper tactically if you use boat angles and basically try to...
personal preference. I once worked at Winder Boats in the UK and they used a yellowish looking polish, but I'm not sure what it was. I also have a Mirror though and I used a very slippery carnauba wax on that, but i don't put anything on my Laser
I have been sailing the Laser Radial since March this year and have recently been sailing up to 5 days a week, which must be bad for my sail. However, vertical creases have begun to appear on my sail from the head, to the forward ends of the batten pockets in a direction down the sail. I am...
