    Sailing Vacation Update

That looks like a great holiday idea. Bit more of a run than our little bay on Norfolk. Is that Michigan? My friends went on the weekend and it turned out to be good for a surf too lol. Jonno

    Tiller Extension

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your time to answer and help us out. Every time I hit the water I'm sailing smoother and smoother which increases my enjoyment, keeping me on the water longer each time. Always room for improvement tho. Thanks again.

    Tiller Extension

Hi all, has anyone got any tips how to get a newby to use a tiller extension. When I tack I let go of the tiller, not really keen on this but using the tiller extension has me going in all directions, zig zagging all over the bay lol. Hands get tangled too and has added something more for me to...

Laser serial number - can this be true?

I have an orange hull, white deck and pretty orange, white and yellow sail - 116012. On the mast we found a date it as shipped to Norfolk, 14th Jan 1984 (or 87)

    Poorly constructed boats

Thank you, thats great. Installing the cleats is what has held me back getting the new kicker. Although not totally simple, I wasn't sure how to go about it considering the loads that I imagine can be put on these pieces while underway. It would be my luck that while trying to make the boat...

    Poorly constructed boats

Now I'm wondering how to tell the age of my boat. It has the laser stickers etc and yellow sail etc and was built somewhere in New Zealand. Also, how do you go about upgrading cleats etc on the decking, I am thinking bout a Harken Vang system (love having good gear) and I only have a single rope...

    Bend in the Mast

Thats our lagoon on Norfolk Island. We're a small 5 x 7km island about an hour flying time south of New Caledonia and 3 hours east of Brisbane, Australia. An absolute gem of a place, don't lock our cars or house etc, know most people. Lots of water sports and as well world class facilities in a...

    Bend in the Mast

Thats superb, thank you so much for taking the time, we appreciate it. Bring on the wind! We can't sail on a wind with any North in it as our lagoon is on the southern side of our tiny island and is surrounded by Norfolk Pines, and guess what we have forecasted for the next tens days!

    Bend in the Mast

Thank you everyone, I must lay the sail out and have a look at the shape. I'm brand new to this. Here's a pic of us on my first ever sail in light winds, was about a whopping 7 knots so don't laugh. I can see the lines in my sail, should I have let some outhaul out to get rid of the creases and...

    Bend in the Mast

Hi all, probably a stupid question but I notice in photos around the web there is a lot of bend in the masts. I would like to know how that comes about, is something that 'just happens' in stronger winds as the end of the boom gets lower towards the stern? Photos of me on the water show my mast...

Rigging for 15 knots, new to this....

Hi Jeffers, thanks for that. Really appreciate it. What would be the strongest wind you've sailed a laser in? Reason for asking is I am wondering whats extreme etc. THanks again

Rigging for 15 knots, new to this....

Hi everyone. I'm sure you have been asked this before but have been unable to find it, sure would appreciate a comment. Our family has just brought a lazer, wow, has this opened up some family fun! Should have done it years ago. We sail in a small but beautiful lagoon at Norfolk Island and our...
