You will need to replace the rubber bands in the bailer. It's a bit of a pain. Vangaurd sells a replacement kit, but frankly I think it's way to expencive for basiclly 2 rubber bands. What I suggest is to take the bailer off, check to see if the bands have broken or just came off. If you...
It most likely something call a "pen camera". It's just as it sounds a small pen like camera attached to a long cable. That cable attaches to some sort of recording device. Most likely a Sony Clamshell.
This can be rented from any pro video shop for a resonable price.

In Toronto, I know the cops will get ya if you don't have a paddle while in the inner Harbour, cause of the lakers and farries that go threw. Like a paddle will help if a 60 foot lake freighter is coming at ya. But I was told that the cops here are terrified of sail boats cause they never what...
Hey All,
I put on a new travler (spectra) on my boat....but the darn thing isn't catching in the cleat, when I sail the thing just slides and the boom just raises. I used the proper line accortding to Vangaurd. Any suggestions on this one.

Hey Senna,
If you want, my club has an old laser in which the deck collapsed, we are trying to unload the thing. It has a good step in it. I'm sure if you made us an offer we would sell the whole thing to ya, and you'd have replacement part to boot. And we are in Toronto. PM if you want...
I have to say I did miss having cleats this weekend in a regatta. Blowing 25 knots'ish, arms tired, cold water blah blah blah. But I'm not sure if I'd put them on yet. The idea of sitting on them isn't a pleasing thought. My old boat has them and I am constantly sitting on them when I use...
I like the idea of the dolly on the trailer with the boat on it that Al Russell posted. I am just wondering, does it damage the dolly with all the bouncing and stuff that happens when we trailer our boat. If not...I think I just found a better way of trailering!!!

You don't need to register Lasers in Canada unless it is a skiff on an other boat. If you go down to buy one don't come back threw the same border crossing, they photograph your car when you go there and if you happen to be one of the lucky ones they compare you could be in trouble.

Ya I ran the number when I bought a new sail last week. Buy the time you pay for shipping, GST, duties and all that other good stuff. It's cheaper to buy here. I got a great deal on a North Sail from Dave at Pride Marine in Kingston. PM me and I'll give you there info if you want.

Wow ok here it goes. The crack is about 2 inches in diameter, and one part spreads out about a extra few inches to one side. I can't stick anything threw it. It is near the trailer bunk position. I have a feeling it is only a gel coat crack. My though was to grind down the gel coat and...
1) Keep the sail out of the water!!!
2) Keep the Hull in the water.
It seems to work for me!!!
:)
Ok serious my 2 tip for a guy who has only been sailing lasers for a year.
1) Close-Haul sheet in block to Block if you can. And Hike, hike hike.
2) Down Wind, center board up and...
Sorry what I ment is Crooked Beat has an issue with a club policy (we belong to the same club) and the club policy shouldn't be debated on the forum.

Not to sound rude towards Hans...but did he not design the boat not the sail? For give my ignorance if I'm wrong. Any how I know your situation. what you need to understand is a community club only has a certain amount of money for new sails and they get replaced every 3 to 4 years. So the...
