I used the "Laser Wiki" page in an attempt to ID my hull. Everything looked good with exception. See below.

Any idea on what the "M" and "811" represent?
When did the boom stiffener become "factory" installed? How can you determine if a stiffener tube is in the boom without removing an end cap?

One of the retailers suggests a "boom stiffner" when upgrading older boats with a new vang assembly.
My boat was built in 82 and has original spars that seem to be in good shape.
Is it nessasarry to add the stiffner?
Any reason to put sail numbers on a practice sail?
I realize the boat needs an ID if your using the practic sail for club events but is a full "class legal" number nessasary?
