So I picked up a Laser today out of storage... A lady sold it to me said it was her late husbands of a long time ago... had it seems like maybe for a long time.
I've Identified it as a '74.
It is in great shape - the centerboard and rudder are beautiful wood and near perfect... the sail needs to be replaced... but my question is - the hull etc being as old as they are and in as good of shape as they are... does that make them special to anyone out there? Can you race with the wood gear - wood that make any sense? Do the newer boats go faster for any reason??
Curious because I just want to get back into sailing Lasers - not a vintage collector... PSL 12657 0274
Maybe I should just enjoy!?
