Yard Sailing

Spent some time over the last few days fitting a Sunfish and a kayak to our new Malone MicroSport trailer. And Skipper wants to get out on the water, Summer Solstice maybe? So we made sure we remembered where all of the parts are and did some yard sailing. She has a tight grip on the sheet.

We changed out support bars to lower the cross bars, very happy with the boat being only 18 inches off of the ground. The Malone system is awesome, where has it been all of our lives?!

Hi LVW,

Yes, we could move the Sunfish outboard and put another set of MegaWing pads on the cross bars. We plan to try that at one point and maybe add the Tier rack that would hold up to 100 pounds of stuff, like our 2 small kayaks.

Nice set up. The Megawing or equivalent is used through the Caribbean for kayaks and SUP boards. I’ve also seen double deck trailers.

If we flew the Jolly Roger there would likely be official trouble. (Caribbean). Some island water police are very touchy and some island laws make them criminal. We also figure the US CG on the Great Lakes and water cops had issues with them.
