Has anyone figured out how to store a J24 with the mast up during the winter without getting water into the cabin?
I recently purchased a propane outboard to get in and out the harbor but am still pondering how to safely secure the tank while sailing. Any thoughts or experience?

If you are storing for winter then take it down. It’s not that big and makes a dandy tarp support.

Why buy a motor that cannot be fueled at a marina? Our cruising rally fleet members in the Caribbean have universally dumped propane due to cost, availability, logistical, maintenance issues. Electric OBs also but for maintenance, reliability, range problems and fire potential.

One fellow had one with the 20# gas bottle in a plastic milk crate. Unless the tank is aluminum, it will corrode.
