Is this boat salvageable / worth fixing?

This Hobie Holder 14 mkl has been sitting on my grandfathers property for probably around 30 years, and since I have the summer off after finishing college I'm hoping to fix it up. The hardware looks like it's in great shape, and the sails, boom and tiller have been sitting in the basement and look great. There's a small hole on the topside, and a larger but still small hole on the port side of the hull (pictured). The boat was upside down and was not covered. Is it worth patching the fiberglass, or could the hull be shot? Is there anything I should check to make sure it's seaworthy? I'm new to any type of restoration like this so it would be a great learning experience, but I want to make sure it's worth the time and money.
