Holt Boom Vang Pictures

Any body got a good picture of how a Holt Vang is supposed to be rigged?

My boat came with it already rigged and there is a twist (crossing of lines) built into the system that I can't seem to get out. Maybe its the rigged correctly, it just seems kind of strange.

Thanks for any help.

its rigged just like that Harken, assuming you know how it looks

tried to post a picture, but APS wouldn't come up

I've seen that picture. I guess what I'm looking for is an actual rigging diagram. The picture you've shown me doesn't give enough information. I was hoping that someone could send me a PDF showing Holts recomended rigging pattern.

thanks.

Hi. Here is a rigging-guide made by the Laserstore where I usually buy Laserparts here here I live. See page 8:

P.S.:
Some other pics, in languages I don't understand, you find here:

Is it possible that your top block (the one with the vang key that hooks into the boom) is just twisted? With mine, if I don't put it away properly it sometimes gets all twisted and takes a little bit of fussing with to get it untwisted.

Here's a slightly larger photo from the Rooster site (it is a Harken but I don't think the difference is that great) to give you some idea. . .

If you rotate the upper block when it is off the boom you can get the lines crossed (the white spectra in the photo) but otherwise have everything look ok. To undo it, you just need to undo the rotation(s) until it is clear. Think of it as kind of like a Rubik's cube made from line. . . keep twisting and rotating until everything lines up correctly.

does anyone know if a Spinlock PXR will fit on a Holt vang? I've tried it on a Harken and I won't work.

From what I understood, cleats are free range, as they are on the control line base

x. “Builder Supplied” Vang Cleating Fitting
(a) The vang cleat block may be replaced with a
“Builder Supplied” vang cleating fitting which
incorporates “Turning Points” and a cam cleat.

These photos show the 2 Class legal “Builder
Supplied” vang cleating fittings:
(b) The fitting shall be attached directly to the mast
tang.
(c) The fitting shall not be modified in any way.

I beleive the fitting that is being referred to is the "vang" itself, the piece that attaches to the mast, which is "“Builder Supplied” vang cleating fitting", I'm talking about the cleat, not the fitting

either way, I messaged Tracy, I'll let him decide

Wasn't it Tracy who developed the Laser Mini-Pedestal™ when he was attending UC Irvine? :D :D :D
