Different types of Sunfish coamings?

I've got a cockpit coaming that's supposed to be for a Sunfish, however the shape is a bit different from the one we have on our 1978 Sunfish. This one doesn't have quite as sharp of an angle on the forward bend and the two sides are a bit more curved. I can post a picture later but don't have one now.

Did Sunfish ever make a differently shaped coaming?

The boats have been produced in fiberglass since 1960 or so, so that is 63 years. I wouldn’t be surprised if there have been some minor variations over time.

During that time, there have been many "clones" of the genuine Sunfish. Expect differences between "knock-offs" and the original design.

If the mounting holes line up perfectly, the difference could be traceable to contracted suppliers.

I have handled hundreds of these Sunfish coamings over the years and they are remarkably similar. Some older ones only had gelcoat on the "up" side but other than that, the shape have stayed the same. Maybe you have one from a "clonefish." Post a few photos if you can.
