The 2009 Laser Standard, Radial and 4.7* North American Championship was held July* 25-28, hosted by the Buffalo Canoe Club at Crystal Beach in Ontario and with racing on the east end of Lake Erie. 228 competitors participated, including 10 Laser 4.7s, 97 Laser Standards and 121 Laser Radials! The first day of racing was lost due to a passing front, but 10 races were held over the next three days. Brad Shaw wins the Laser 4.7s, followed by Kayla Gibson and Rachel Bryer. In the Radials, Lisa Ross wins over Jen Spalding with Alex Heinzemann in third. In the Standards it all came down to the final race with 2 points separating the top four boats. Chris Dold wins the tie breaker over Lee Parkhill to win while David Wright wins the tie breaker over Clay Johnson to take third. Full results can be found here.*
