At our club we have a new sailor with an 'experienced' Laser. The boat has a leak in the cockpit at the drain plug assembly. It appears that the brass hex nut was tightened so hard that it is now imbedded into the cockpit wall. An added feature is that the drain plug assembly is slightly off-center.
Has anyone dealt with this situation before with any success? Or did you just start looking for a new(er) boat?
