Replacement bow hook/handle

I just picked up a Sunfish project and it needs a new bow handle. I did a quick search and see there are several companies selling replacements. I also hear folks on the forum saying that alignment with the holes on the deck is not guaranteed. Is one manufacturer better than another...I see the prices range between $15 and $30.

Hi lakesailer. I believe I bought mine from Intensity Sails. The holes lined up, and it works just fine. I just checked and the price was 17.99.

Hi Lakesailer. Remember that the bow handle has wooden blocks backing it inside the hull. The blocks probably fell out when the original handle was removed. Just screwing the new handle into the old holes will not be very strong.
