Car topping with a T-bar in the hitch

Just used this T-bar attachment in my hitch to successfully take my laser ~ 450 km. I think my stock roof rack beams are too close together, so this does a great job of moving the loading points further away. The guy I bought the boat from made the T-bar attachment for his Honda Civic, it's pretty simple and works great (also comes apart for easy storage). Hard to see, but I ran two lines between the ends of the "T" and my rear roof rack and had them really tight to stop the T moving about. Everything else (dolly, boom, lower master section, rigging, tools,...) is inside the car, with the top mast section tied next to the boat.

Few reasons: I found using a trailer it would bounce around like mad when I hit potholes and bumps - my car suspension is way better than trailer suspension. I also found a trailer a pain in traffic and for parking. Last reason is this boat came with the T-bar and I don't have a trailer. Oh, and also, no trailer maintenance, licensing, or insurance :)
