Mainsheet

I am looking to buy a new mainsheet and was wondering what y'all think is the best one.

My favourite one from this page is the dinghy sheet XL. It is a good size and feels good to hold.


The best possible sheet to have is the thinnest sheet you can use without it hurting your hands, this is so it runs through the blocks best as easily as possible.

Remember you will need 13.5m of it.

I use the Maffolli, but I've heard good things about the Buzz sheet as well. It's all personal preference.

I use the Buzz 8mm. It's cheap and is easier for me to hold the bigger diameter than the 7mm ropes.

Agreed - I tried the skinny one and like the grip of the bigger one.

I use the rooster polilite 6mm (yellow one). As long as you dead end it first it doesn't kink and its thin and light for light winds. I don't wear gloves and my hands cope with this rope even in 20knot+ days.
