tamanho da uma vela para o Sunfish

The OP from the thread on WoodenBoat gave me a diagram that was made with input from that discussion and offered me to share it here:

Another thread on lateen sails, from another forum, with comments about the diagrams I posted above by an experienced small-boat sail maker: https://forum.woodenboat.com/forum/building-repair/161866-?p=9072003#post9072003

tamanho da uma vela para o Sunfish

Above is a quick look at my own sail. The note on 1" luff and foot tape is really 2" ( folded for 1 inch each side) In the 1975 copy of the Mainsail pamphlet from Sailrite, it indicates broadseams but differs in dimensions, panel count, grommet count as my Alcort one from 10 years later or...

tamanho da uma vela para o Sunfish

Ola J- Some places list the luff and foot 13.25 feet and the leech 14.25 feet (only 1 inch or 2.5cm different) . I am not sure how any of them measure area, I get more like 7.4 or 7.5 m^2 with an online claculator, but I imagine the sails are not really flat but drafted. Now I am curious...

Just got my first Capri 14.2 and checking in

Congrats on the new-to-you boat. Is the rudder cheek a stainless or aluminum affair? Cut it off, beat to fit, have it re-welded.

    Deck drain plug question

When I tried drilling out the threaded plug, the fitting in the boat got warm enough to break the bond to the boat and they came right out. Maybe a soldering iron or soldering gun would be a more controllable way to heat the fitting? Close-up pic of a older drain plug system from @Alan S. Glos

    Deck drain plug question

On my one, I got them too warm trying to get them out and the outside of the fittings become loose on the boat. I pulled them off and was able to work on them in a vise in the garage. Once I got the screw-in part out (drilled and then an Easy-out type removal tool, a little plumber's torch work...

    What trailer is this one?

Good detective work on your end. Having the VIN from the manufacturer will hopefully make it easier to register/license.

    What trailer is this one?

Congrats on the new to you boat and trailer! My Holsclaw trailer has a stamped serial plate on the winch mast and a rectangular Holsclaw sticker on the back of each fender. The one sticker (img_9546) is plausible for TeeNee.

Match gel coat ‘79 Custom Edition?

My guess is some of each, although brown is tricky as it has a little of all colors in it :) In some circles is is considered a faux pax to put polyester (gelcoat) over epoxy (MarineTex) although the ITW website outlines a procedure...
