I should clarify... Pinched only long enough to see if I could point as high, then fell off until I regained good flow across the sail. Didn't keep pinching. That was the thing, just couldn't point.

Nice medium air day yesterday on Mobile Bay. Nailed a perfect roll tack :) and just as everything came tight - POW! Snapped my upper mast where it slides into the lower mast and ripped my (second time used) sail right across the sleeve :mad:.

If your boat has inspection ports, you simply open one of them and throw in a couple of Viagras. Plan to sail soon thereafter, as this is only a temporary fix.

I've had a couple of Lasers and I recently restored an old Laser 2. My experience was just the opposite of yours - My (1979) Laser 2's deck is solid as a rock and my Laser is the soft one.
I guess it varies from boat to boat.
