I have a non-sailing question for anyone interested in answering…
I live in Delaware. As of 1 January 2007 lawn waste will no longer be accepted at our state landfills. I have always had a compost heap in my yard and have never seen a need to put yard waste in the trash, but lots of people around me put all their grass, brush, and sticks in the trash.
Many people don’t want compost heaps in their yard and are wondering what to do come January. My city has a special pick-up for yard waste and it is composted and available for anyone in the city to use, but not all cities and towns in Delaware have this service.
I’m wondering what the policies are in other areas. Does anyone else have restrictions on yard waste disposal in household trash? If you do, what are your options for disposal of yard waste?
