WTB: Pre-1972 Sunfish Rudder/tiller/tiller extension

Hello,

I got teased with the idea of just replacing the rudder on my 1971-72 Sunfish instead of buying and installing a conversion kit.

Unfortunately the one I spotted just sold.

Does anyone have at least a rudder board in usable condition? I can probably make the existing tiller/extension work, and I have all of the hardware. But will buy any combination of of the assembly with a rudder board.

Hi Kris,
Also a new member. Have an early Sunfish rudder/tiller/bracketry which is proving impractical on Lake Huron with receding water and multiple sandbars. Please advise how to communicate with personal messages/contact info. Karl

This is not my CL ad. but people ship on CraigsList all the time. Ask for a shipping quote before you agree to buy.

Ah, interesting; I always considered it local only.

In other news, I found another Sunfish for the same price as the rudder conversion kit, with a post 1972 wood rudder like the one I am searching for.

I wonder how many times people here have bought a boat, only to find themselves with two or more, hah!
