Wood Sailfish keel needed

I recently acquired a wooden sailfish and am restoring it. It is in fine condition overall and I have scraped and sanded it. The keel on the bow half of the boat was rotted, as was the trim around the daggerboard slot on the underside. So I need a 4 ft section of keel (3/4”x1/2” stock) and the trim at bottom of the dagger board slot. Are these parts available anywhere?

I'm going make a guess, that parts stopped being available a loooong time ago. With decent woodworking skills, I'd think you'd just fashion what you need. Cheaper and a custom fit for what you'd need too.

The keel was most likely oak, but you can use other hardwoods. We'll be using cypress on ours, squirrels ate the rotten one, thanks squirrels!.

Got pics?

Tried to post some pics but we’re in the boonies and downloading is real slow. Cut the oak pieces today and they're ready to install. A little more sanding and ready to fill a little, strip and varnish rails and paint hull. Great fun!
