What is the weight of a Sunfish hull?

I purchased a 1977 Sunfish in excellent shape. I read on the web that the hull should weigh between 135-140 pounds. Is this correct? When I weighed my hull it was 183 lbs. So I'm thinking it's water logged. I purchased 2 inspection port covers thinking one up front and one in back and I would use a computer fan to dry it out. But when I cut one hole in the hull, no water and the white foam had no stain marks. Can anyone help me with my question?

Yes, 130 lbs avg plus or minus 10 lbs.

Two hypotheses:
1. Your measurement wasn't correct
2. The extra weight is all in the back

Both of these hypotheses can be tested readily.
I used a brand new digital scale. I'll weigh it again. Thanks

The water is soaked up by the yellow foam used as a glue. The white foam (Styrofoam™) is only affected by cut-damage or pressure, which shrinks it somewhat.
