Wear strip for tiller rubbing on stern of laser?

I have noticed excessive wearing starting to appear where the tiller rubs against the rear deck of the laser. Does anyone know of any sort of wear strip what could be placed over the edge of the deck to protect further wear?

Thanks in advance,
Steve

The wear strip is a temp solution, but doesn't really fix the problem. The problem is the tiller is too low relative to the deck. You can shim the rudder up by adding a washer between the pintal and the gudgeon (usually one is enough) and/or you can re-shape the tiller end so that it sits higher in the rudder head.

I just put a little velcro on there. Got rid of the rubbing, but I do have to do something to the tiller to keep it higher.
