Washing my Sail

I have an older sail that's filthy. If I run it through the washing machine will I ruin it?

Yes, it will ruin it. Why flog the sail? Lay it out on a clean driveway and hose it down and scrub it with a soft brush and sail cleaner.

Alternatively, you can dilute bleach and wash it with that. I believe it's a tablespoon or two to 5 gallons, but i'm not positive.
