Was anybody at Midwinters or Masters?

Did anyone on this board attend either of those regattas? If so, could you please post a writeup of what the winds were like, etc.? There has been almost no info except for what the results were. BB

Attended both.

Midwinters:
Wind directions were as forecast, but velocity was usually off from predicitons.
First day blowout - no races due to thunderstorms.
Second day - First race winds started NW about 12 to 14 with light chop. During first race, winds dropped and started continuous veer to W. Winds from W about 8 or less with smoother water for remaining races. 4 races.
Third day - similar story except winds never got above 8 to 10 - usually less than 8 with very light chop. 3 races.

Masters:
Wind directions and velocity were generally as forecast.
First day - light winds about 6 from N, clocking to NE and finally E during races. Smooth water. 3 races.
Second day - E winds about 8 from east with light chop. Wind picked up a little, maybe 12, and clocked to SE for during last race - probably some seabreeze effect. 3 races.
Third day - S winds ahead of approaching front from W. 8 to 10 for first race, with nasty chop due to long fetch. Winds increased to 20 - 25 for last race as front closed in. 2 races.
