I know you all probably like Laser sailing so I thought I'd share the short video I made for my Make A Champ funding page. It includes some coach boat and go pro footage from a recent training camp in Sydney, Australia. There is one soon to be 2016 Olympian and three other hopefuls (including myself) in the video.

It's not super extreme 30 knots or anything but some cool footage with a bit quicker cuts than what most vidoes use (I have a poor attention span). I didn't have a lot of footage to work off but I would be glad to hear some feed back too. If you think the music is too intense that may be a valid remark.

As a young sailor (who is a little Canadian!) myself with a dream of a gold in the laser, (though in 2024-8) I wish you the best, nice vid. by the way. I just love the laser and having sailed many classes, it is the best. Physical, fast, fun, reasonably priced, the list goes on and on. Just a match of the sailor. Show those Aussies that Bruce Kirby is Canadian! Reminds me of this By Langston Hues:
Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

Great poem! I wish you the best in your campaign. The Laser may be a 'simple' boat but it takes many many years to master.

I'll message you directly with some tips for sailing in waves.

How are you doing in the Canadian trials at the moment?
This week Evert is sailing in the Majorca regatta.
There's a nice app to follow the racing (look for 47 Trofeo S.A.R. Princesa Sofia in the app store).

After two days (four races), Evert is 24th (out of a whopping 152 registrants).

I thought I'd just ask what the current score is between the CAN contenders.

I assume that Princess Sofia is not part of their trials as Lee Parkhill isn't there.
