Tieing off using a bowline knot. I would ditch the trigger snap. Primarily because a bowline is more secure, and it has the bonus of improving the longevity of the plastic on the traveller wire, as minor as that may be.
 
The bowline is a little bulky, but doesn't scratch the deck. A tapered line is available, which would lighten the mainsheet—aft—keeping it from dragging in the water when sailing directly downwind. (Especially in Light and Variable Winds). ;)
