Traveler bridle replacement

I want to replace my traveler bridle but am afraid to remove the bolts holding the eye that holds the traveler to the deck. I assume there is a plate and or bolt on the underside of the deck and I don’t want to lose them in the boat and have to instal an inspection port. Any information about this will be helpful. The boat is a 2007 Vanguard.

If the boat is a 2007 Vanguard, you don't have to worry (much) about unscrewing the machine screws that hold the deck eyes as Vanguard glassed in an aluminum plate to the underside of the deck and then use self-tapping screws to cut threads into the plate. That said, it is always best to keep one screw attached to prevent the (very rare) chance that the under-deck plate might come un-glassed (is that a word?) and fall into the innards of the hull. The same goes for the deck halyard eye and cleat, bow handle , hiking strap attachment hardware and the rudder gudgeon bracket.
