Tiller Stay

anybody have a good suggestion for fashioning a simple tiller stay for a fish?

i'm not necessarily looking to lock it in place, just to get some more resistance.

Sail Away...

I worry about the Sunfish sailing off without me, but I fashioned a bungee cord between the two ends of the traveler, and used a cable-tie to make a 340° loop around the tiller.

I can't remember if I saw this on the Sunfish Forum, or somewhere else... but here is the "tiller tamer" - about $35, though.

that tiller tamer is a nice little device - I like that its adjustable. the quarter inch line is a little heavy but its perfect for what i had in mind.

at 34 bucks + 6 bucks shipping per boat (times 2)= 80 bucks. hmmm that's a tank of gas!

thats a great idea - sounds like it re-centers the tiller when you let it go.

i'm going to try to modify that into one that stays where you leave it - maybe an 1/8th inch line through a cable tie that is not pulled tight all the way.
