tacking trouble

Am having trouble with tacking . I understand what is happening. I know the steps required to make it work. The problem I'm having is moving my fanny to the other side and not dropping the sheet or having the tiller extension getting in the way. This move looks so easy but I just get tangled up. Any ideas on simplifying this process ?

There are several videos on YouTube
that might help. One of the best is from the RYA featuring Shirley Robertson

Note that the 'switching' of the sheet and tiller is after settling in on the 'new' side.
It will take some practice, but you will like it once you get it right.

My issue comes from the limited space to move in a MiniFish... and a prosthetic leg + a bad back limiting flexibility. Just not enough room to be quick.

So I got a bigger sailboat with a bit more room than in a Laser.

That demo video not being a Sunfish (not even as close as a Sailfish) still shows she's got the excess line forward, out of the way, so she's not getting tangled in it.
