Some unfortunate souls broke a spar because of the big swells, not because of the generally light winds.

Beldar Boathead reported earlier that the fleet races in Sunfishes made in China. Would love to hear more about that. Any spies out there in Cartagena?

Per a Facebook report from Brian McGinnis its 24 Chinese boats, 24 one year old but never used US boats, and the rest late model US built boats chartered from Cartegena locals. It should be possible to look at the pix on Facebook and see if the leaders have US or Chinese boats. I'm hoping it's a nice mix.

Alonso Collantes (Peru) is the 2016 World Champ; sailed a very impressive series.
