Hi,
Im currently making by own boom with aluminium tube and was wondering where exactly I need to locate the pulleys and the hole for the interlocking bolt.
If anybody could provide these measurements from the end of the boom it would be much appreciated.
Many thanks
Ben
Put the gooseneck about 22 inches back from the front end of the boom, then put the forward block above the sheet hook/swivel cam cleat and aft block over the bridle. The hole for the interlocking bolt goes about 3/8th inches back, look at how much of the boom cap inserts inside the boom and try to drill through the middle of that bit.
Too close to the end and the bolt can pull out. Too far back and the bolt will not capture the cap
