Sunfish Laser Inc - Quality issues?

I've heard about quality issues in the SLI boats, mostly in regards to delamination. Is there any truth to it?

My '92 SLI hull had fairly serious deck delamination when I got it in 2003. More significantly, when I was drilling the holes in the deck to fix it, I regularly got a good whiff of uncured styrene. However, that was over 15 years ago, so they may well have improved since then...
 
I guess you have to really inspect the boats. My 92 SLI boat was in great shape though I don't know it's early life. I bought the boat in 2001 then later sold it. The only reason why I sold it was that I needed another Laser and came across two well kept 1999 Lasers. That 1992 Laser has had two owners since but so far it is still in great shape. It was out racing this weekend in Melbourne with its new owner.
