Southwest laser regattas around New Years?

Hey all,

I'm going to be in Santa Barbara for a week surrounding New Years this year. Last time I was there at that time there was a laser regatta going on, so this year I thought I'd look around and see if there is anything I can charter a boat for this year. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any regatta listings, and since I'm from the northeast, I'm not familiar with the annual district 25 regattas. Anyone advice?

Not much happening in December and January.

ABYC in Long Beach, has their "Boxing Day Regatta" which usually has some Lasers participate. It's a random leg, handicap fleet race though...just for fun really. www.abyc.org

BYC in Newport Beach, has their "Sunkist Regatta", which a fleet of Lasers race (10~14 boats). Saturday, December 6th and Saturday, January 3rd are the next two race dates for Lasers. www.balboayachtclub.com

Check Santa Barbara Yacht Club www.sbyc.org and give them a call. They have their Hot Rum and Centennial races, however I have no idea if Lasers compete. You might find a ride on a big boat though.
