Hyères, France April 27, 2007 Evi Van Acker from Belgium made it a big back-to-back double today when she won the Gold Medal in the Laser Radial Class at the Semaine Olympique Française in Hyeres. Just three weeks ago she also won Gold at the Trofeo Princesa Sofia in Palma de Mallorca. Conditions for the ten-boat, double points Medal Race today were perfect, with sunshine, a steady 15-knot breeze and a lively sea condition. I had excellent boat speed and sailed very well but I couldn’t overcome the handicap of a poor start. I finished today’s race in fifth place to score sixth overall in the event.
