hi,
I am busy replacing the self bailer: the previous one had completely vanished.. Except for the screw in the hull. And while I tried to remove that, the whole thing just disappeared into the boat, together with the remains of the plastic insert around it.
Now my question: did there use to be some flesh or anchor behind the hull? I now simply have a hole in a very thin hull. I'd expect some sort of extra 'flesh' to be behind the hole, but there isn't any. Is this normal? Or was there something and did I broke it loose whole working on that remaining part of the screw? ....
See also attached.
Many thanks! M
