Seaward Fox

Just bought a Fox, 1988 vintage. It's pretty solid for an old boat. It appears that the boom vang is also used as the mainsheet. I've been away from sailing for a long time. Am I on the right track?

It's a "pocket cruiser", something most of us don't know as well as a Sunfish.
