Sail repair

I was out sailing on the weekend and noticed a hole starting to appear in my sail about 4 inches above where the vang attaches to the boom.
Not sure if his is a high stress poing on the sail or not.
Sail is a few years old, only used for recreational sailing so I dont want to replace it with a new one.
Is it possible to get an adhesive patch to repair the hole or do I need to take it to a sail maker?

Use ripstop tape...it comes in bright white dacron and is VERY secure. There's a webbing type tape a buddy gave me a piece of to strengthen a weak spot on my luff sleeve near where the upper and lower mast sections meet and it's as good as the ripstop, but isn't a perfect match with the white dacron of the laser sail. Ripstop should be available at most sailboat shops. ;)
