I'm looking to replace the rudder pin for the old style rudders. I actually need two of them. I'm told that they're not made any more and I'm wondering if anybody out there might have one or have a lead on one.

The horizontal or the vertical one? The horizontal pin can be found at the hardware store or online as a direct replacement.

Used parts exist...

A bronze or stainless steel shoulder bolt from the hardware store will work for either Vertical or Horizontal pin..., long on the shoulder is best.

Trouble with bolts is they require nuts and nuts need a wrench. Ny-lock nuts won't vibrate off easily. A peened wing nut (you peen it) can work.

Or you can make your own pin...

... A new pin can be fashioned from anything from brass welding rod to stainless steel bar stock. Trim to length and add holes for keepers. Put a stainless steel split-ring on one end and tether it to the upper plate. Keep the other end with another split ring, a safety pin cotter, or a hairpin cotter.
